Instabase

Background

For years before generative AI, Instabase had been working with major banks, insurance, and healthcare companies to build AI-powered internal tools to understand, extract, and analyze their masses of unstructured data. In 2023, genAI posed a new opportunity for the company to build out a suite of product to continue serving their enterprise customers, while attracting new ones. This new offering was AI Hub, a platform for enterprise companies to discover and generate insights from their data. AI Hub offers Build, Converse, and Search - three distinct products that enable automation and generation of insights instantly.

What we did

We crafted three distinct AI products under AI Hub to cater to all enterprise users: Partnering with Instabase stakeholders and their top customers, we defined AI Hub's three products: Build for developers, Converse for operators, and Search for employees needing data access. Over the course of 3 months we refined these concepts into a powerful and intuitive platform for users to generate insights from any and all documents in their company. We also helped form Instabase's Pollen Design System team and issued a complete refresh of their UI a significant expansion of its to include complex components and layouts

Results

Our work on Pollen improved UX consistency and streamlined the product development process, allowing Instabase to achieve more with fewer resources. Ultimately this supported the company in securing an addition $45 million in Series C funding in 2023.
